INTEGRATED 综合写作
three theories about what short-faced bears ate
阅读文章要点：
1. They might eat large animals, because their big legs and feet
could attack giant mammals by pulling them to the ground.
2. They might eat fast-running animals, such as antelope and deer,
because they had long legs, which could run fast and catch some
fast-running animals.
3. They might be scavenger and eat animals that were already dead.
听力逐一反驳：
1. Skeletons show that they had thin bones, so they were too weak
to attack and pull giant animals to the ground.
2. Fast-running animals didn’t run in straight line. They could change
directions and make sharp turns. However, short-faced bears were
too heavy to slow down, so they couldn’t catch fast-running animals.
3. The mask on the teeth is the characteristic of scavenger, because
dead animals have hard bones. But no records suggest that
short-faced bears had that kind of mask.
